Three Engagements.
Each Designed with
Precision.
Every consulting engagement at Merlion Apex is structured around a defined scope, a collaborative process, and deliverables that translate into meaningful next steps for your leadership team.
Choose the Engagement That Fits Your Situation
Each service is designed for a distinct business context. If you are uncertain which engagement is appropriate, our team is happy to have a preliminary conversation before any commitment is made.
Strategic Compass Review
A structured diagnostic for leadership teams seeking a clear-eyed view of their current direction, positioning, and alignment. Concludes with a prioritised action roadmap.
Operational Architecture Advisory
A hands-on engagement examining how your business actually operates — workflows, resource allocation, decision pathways — with practical, implementable recommendations.
Executive Governance Framework
A comprehensive engagement that helps leadership teams build or strengthen governance architecture — covering board composition, risk oversight, and compliance alignment.
Strategic Compass Review
A structured diagnostic engagement designed for business leaders who want a clear-eyed assessment of their current direction. This service involves a thorough review of your organisational goals, market positioning, and operational alignment.
Over a series of guided sessions, consultants work closely with your leadership team to identify areas of misalignment, surface overlooked opportunities, and map a coherent path forward. The engagement concludes with a detailed report and a prioritised action roadmap tailored to your specific context.

How the Engagement Unfolds
Operational Architecture Advisory
A hands-on consulting engagement focused on refining how your business operates at its core. This service examines workflows, resource allocation, reporting structures, and decision-making pathways to identify friction points and inefficiencies.
Consultants embed within your team for a focused period, observing real operations before proposing practical, implementable changes. Deliverables include a process map, a bottleneck analysis, and a phased improvement plan.
Designed for organisations that have grown organically and need to bring structure to their operations without losing agility.
- Organisations that have scaled quickly and are experiencing coordination difficulties
- Teams with recurring bottlenecks that have not been formally diagnosed
- Businesses onboarding new leadership who need an objective picture of current operations
- Companies preparing for growth that requires operational infrastructure to be stress-tested first
Executive Governance Framework
A comprehensive engagement that helps leadership teams build or strengthen their governance architecture. This service addresses board composition, stakeholder communication protocols, risk oversight mechanisms, and compliance alignment.
Working alongside C-suite leaders and board members, consultants develop a governance handbook customised to your industry and regulatory environment. The engagement also includes facilitated workshops to align leadership on roles, responsibilities, and escalation pathways.
Well-suited for companies preparing for public listings, regulatory audits, or significant expansion.
- Companies working toward a public listing or preparing for investor due diligence
- Organisations facing an upcoming regulatory audit or compliance review
- Boards or C-suites where roles, authorities, and escalation pathways need formalisation
- Firms expanding into new jurisdictions or sectors with distinct governance requirements

Standards Consistent Across Every Engagement
Regardless of which service is selected, each engagement at Merlion Apex is conducted according to the same principles of process rigour, clear communication, and respect for your team's time and internal context.
Scoped Before Commenced
Every engagement begins with a clear written scope — what will be covered, what will not, and what your team should expect at each stage. No ambiguity about what has been agreed to.
Regular Progress Communication
Structured progress updates are provided throughout. You will not be left wondering about the status of an engagement — communication touchpoints are built into every project plan.
Senior Consultant Continuity
The consultant who leads your engagement intake is the same person responsible for your deliverables. Engagements are not handed off partway through to junior team members.
Written Deliverables as Standard
Findings, recommendations, and roadmaps are always provided in a written format your team can reference, share, and act on — not just communicated verbally in a meeting.
Confidentiality as Default
All engagement content, documents, and discussions are treated as confidential. Merlion Apex does not reference client work in case studies or marketing without explicit prior agreement.
Iteration Where Needed
Drafts are shared for review before final delivery. If the first version of a deliverable does not fully reflect your situation, there is a structured revision process built into every engagement.
Questions About Our Services
If you have a question that is not covered here, please reach out directly and we will be glad to respond.
Can I engage more than one service at the same time?
It is possible to sequence engagements closely, and in some cases there is natural overlap — for example, a Strategic Compass Review can usefully precede an Operational Architecture Advisory. Running two engagements concurrently, however, tends to create resource strain for your leadership team. We typically recommend completing one before beginning another, unless your situation genuinely calls for parallel workstreams, in which case we can discuss a structured approach.
How much of my team's time will each engagement require?
Demands on your team's time are kept to a minimum. For the Strategic Compass Review, you should expect two to four structured sessions with key leadership stakeholders over the engagement period. The Operational Architecture Advisory requires more access — typically involving short daily or alternate-day touchpoints with relevant team members during the embedded phase. The Executive Governance Framework will involve your C-suite and board members in workshop sessions, which are scheduled well in advance to fit their calendars.
Is the engagement fee fixed, or does it vary based on company size?
The fees listed represent the standard rate for each engagement. For businesses with a particularly complex situation or a scope that materially exceeds what a standard engagement typically covers, there may be a discussion about a revised fee before any commitment is made. This would always be clearly communicated and agreed upon in writing before work begins. There are no hidden charges or variable costs after scope is agreed.
Do you work with businesses outside of Singapore?
Our primary focus is on businesses operating in Singapore or with their principal operations here. For services that require on-site presence — such as the Operational Architecture Advisory — the engagement is designed around access to your Singapore operations. For the Strategic Compass Review and Executive Governance Framework, remote participation is possible for stakeholders based in other locations, though Singapore-based leadership should be the primary point of engagement.
How do I know which service is right for my situation?
If you are uncertain, the most straightforward approach is to get in touch for an initial conversation. We can discuss your current situation, what you are hoping to address, and which engagement — if any — would be a reasonable fit. There is no pressure to proceed after that conversation; it is simply an opportunity to clarify before any decisions are made.
What happens after an engagement concludes?
Once an engagement is complete and all deliverables have been handed over, the relationship does not simply end. We are available for follow-up questions related to the engagement for a defined period after delivery — this is built into the engagement structure. Some clients return for a subsequent engagement when their situation evolves, and we welcome that continuity. What we do not do is create dependency by withholding implementation knowledge or making ongoing advisory retainers a prerequisite to getting value from the deliverables.
Not Sure Where to Start?
Let's Have a Conversation.
Before any engagement begins, we are glad to have a brief, informal conversation about your situation. No prior preparation needed. If there is a fit, we can outline what an appropriate engagement might look like.
